The Garrod family began involvement with California agriculture and open space in 1893, purchasing lands from the Mount Eden Orchard and Vineyard Company. The label recalls the glorious apricot and prune blossoms which enhanced the spring views from the hillside early in the previous century. Since 1972, aging orchards have been replaced with grapes which thrive in this micro-climate. So continues the agricultural tradition begun by winemaker Bill Cooper and vineyard master Jan Garrod's great-grandfather. Winemaker Emeritus George Cooper refined his craft by learning from his fellow vintners in the Santa Cruz Mountains, Napa Valley, Burgundy, and Bordeaux. The vineyards are located on 120 acres above the village of Saratoga and total 28 acres, with seven varietals from the four principal grape-growing regions of France: Bordeaux, Loire, Burgundy, and Rhone. In 2010, the vineyards and winery received third-party, California Sustainable Winegrowing certification for the commitment to continual improvement towards a sustainable future.

Zayante Vineyards

I discovered Zayante Vineyard in 2001. Our relationship began when I purchased a small amount of Zinfandel as an experiment. In 2003, I purchased Syrah from Zayante. I found a character in both these varietals from this site that was incredibly unique. There was more than an expression of the varietals. There was a real site-specific flavor to the wines. I did not understand what this was at the time. It was my first experience with terroir, though the term was not thrown around so freely at the time. Instantly, I was intrigued. Now that I have a deeper understanding and appreciation of terroir, I consider Zayante Vineyard one of my most treasured partnerships. Greg Nolton is a very skilled farmer. His vines are dry farmed and everything is organic. Greg grows his vines using old world methods that many modern day vintners may frown upon, but for me it is magic. The wines come out so expressive of his site that it is quite stunning, and the dry farming leads to an unparalleled intensity.

Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard

Santa Cruz Mountain Vineyard has been making European-style, food-friendly, cellar-worthy wines since 1975. We are well-known for making Pinot Noir that can age beautifully for three decades. Our basic philosophy is that wine should dance with food and make the food/wine experience more than a sum of the ingredients.

This means making wines with moderate alcohol and oak so that the true characteristics of the grape varieties are expressed. You won't find any high-alcohol, jammy, oaky wines here. In 2008 we launched a second brand, Quinta Cruz, which features only varieties that originated on the Iberian Peninsula but are now grown here in California. These Portuguese and Spanish varieties include Tempranillo, Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Souzao, Graciano, and Tinto Cão.

After more-or-less hiding away in the mountains for 32 years, the winery moved into the city of Santa Cruz in 2008 and opened the first tasting room in our long history. We are located in an area where you can walk to many other tasting rooms nearby and are only a few blocks from the beach and Natural Bridges State Park.

Domenico Winery

Domenico Winery is a family owned & operated boutique winery located in San Carlos, California. We specialize in Cal-Italia varietals & have been making award-winning wine for over 20 years. Our vineyard is located in the Sierra Foothills in Amador County, California, where our two estate wines, Syrah & Primitivo, are grown. Since we make over 20 varietals in-house, we also source the finest & most premium grapes from other AVA's (American Viticultural Areas) in California such as: Napa Valley, Somoma Coast, Santa Cruz Mountains, Russian River, & Lodi.

Woodside Vineyards

Located in the hills above the San Francisco Bay, Woodside Vineyards has been family owned since it's founding in 1963. We're credited for being one the first wineries to pioneer the “boutique winery” movement in California, as well as the oldest winery in San Mateo county. Some of our vines are over a century old. Our grapes our grown on some of the most expensive land spread throughout Woodside California.

Our founder, Bob Mullen began producing wine from little more than one acre of grapes at the original Winery on Kings Mountain Road, in 1960. Three years later the winery became bonded, or licensed, to sell Bob's creations. We have grown to manage, harvest and produce wines from over 47 acres throughout the Woodside community.

In addition to winemaking, our team of experienced Viticulturist have been developing the vineyards for the residents of Woodside for over two decades. From planning, design, installation and maintenance, they pay close attention to the intricacies of the plant, soil, water, and typography management to ensure each estate vineyard produces grapes to our winemaking standards.

Testarossa Winery

Testarossa (Italian for “red head”) was the nickname given Rob Jensen as a young university student in Italy. Rob and Diana Jensen started Testarossa in their garage in 1993 with just twenty-five cases of wine. Today, the winery works closely with top winegrowers in the Santa Lucia Highlands, Santa Rita Hills, Arroyo Grande Valley, Santa Maria Valley, Russian River Valley, Chalone and Santa Cruz Mountains appellations. The label has grown to national prominence and the grounds of the winery are just what you would expect from such a well-crafted wine. Visit the tasting room, wine cave, tour the grounds or catch a concert and some small plates at Wine Bar 107; an extension of the Testarossa Winery experience.

MJA Vineyards

The evolution of MJA has been an adventurous one. Our founder Marin John Artukovich comes from a long lineage of Croatian winemakers. Although he was the first generation of his family to be born in the US, Marin grew up immersed in the culture of traditional European wine making. He worked alongside his father in their family business and spent his free time surfing and playing professional beach volleyball. To no ones surprise, after years of hard work, Marin decided to follow his passions to Hawaii for retirement, where he quickly fell in love with the people and the land. Always the entrepreneur, he found that he had a talent for growing Kona coffee, and for over 20 years he has farmed the best Kona Coffee available. During the process of farming the land, and handcrafting from its bounty, the winemaker in him was awakened. In 2008, Marin purchased vineyards in NAPA and made his first barrel of MJA wine under the Serene Cellars label. In 2011, he purchased more land in the Santa Cruz Mountains, where our Davine Cellars wines are made. From Croatia to Hawaii, to Napa, to Santa Cruz…when you visit our tasting rooms or drink our wines, we swear you can taste the journey and feel the Aloha!

Savannah-Chanelle Vineyards

Dreaming of the ultimate family farm, Mike and Kellie Ballard brought their new born daughter Savannah and their five-year-old daughter Chanel up the Santa Clara side of Big Basin canyon, and "buy it" was the plea so buy it they did. Today as Savannah-Chanelle Vineyards, the Ballard Family is forever devoted to the wine legacy of the Santa Cruz Mountains, the solemn stewardship of the historic Pourroy Ranch where the vineyards now grow.
